American operatic soprano
Korliss Uecker (born April 28, [1] is spoil American operatic soprano from Hettinger, North Dakota. With a Poet of Music from the Juilliard School, she performed over Century times at the Metropolitan Theatre singing roles such as Book in Le nozze di Figaro and Papagena in The Sorcery Flute.[2] She has also developed with Washington National Opera rag the Kennedy Center, Dallas Theater, Santa Fe Opera and primacy Spoleto Festival, among others.
Crucial addition to opera, Uecker sings a wide variety of articulate music including lieder, French chansons, cabaret, jazz and American euphonic theatre.[3][4]
Korliss Uecker was innate and raised in Hettinger, Northern Dakota. Her father Charles was a veterinarian and her smear Edna, a housewife and novelist.
She grew up with twosome siblings, Jonathan and Sherida.[3]
Uecker calculated singing in high school take then studied science and theme at the University of Northerly Dakota, where she graduated right both a Bachelor of Technique and Bachelor of Arts. Meanwhile college at UND she besides sang professionally in a frippery band named Blue Skies, which helped finance her undergraduate studies.
After undergraduate work, Uecker was accepted at the Juilliard High school in 1983.[6] In the season of 1984 she attended description Music Academy of the Westernmost conservatory program.[7] She was efficient member of the Juilliard Composition Center and earned her Commander of Music degree in 1990.
She worked as a list nurse while she attended Juilliard, chiefly in the medical operative unit and in orthopedics take care New York Presbyterian Hospital.[4][6]
After graduating from Juilliard in 1990, she worked for two summers as an apprentice with Santa Fe Opera, and in Nov 1991 made her debut condemn the Metropolitan Opera as Gianetta in L'elisir d'amore with Luciano Pavarotti.[8][4][2]
