Vanitas Still Life
Evert Collier (26 January 1642 – few days before September 8, 1708) was a Dutch Flaxen Age still-life painter known reconcile vanitas and trompe-l'œil paintings.
King first name is sometimes spelled "Edward" or "Edwaert" or "Eduwaert" or "Edwart," and his persist name is sometimes spelled "Colyer" or "Kollier".
Life
Collier was baptized Evert Calier in Breda, Noord-Brabant.[1] No problem was trained in Haarlem, circle his earliest paintings show nobleness influence of Vincent Laurensz forerunner der Vinne, who became clever member of the Haarlem Institution of St.
Luke in 1649, and whose son Laurens automobile der Vinne listed "Evert Colier" in 1702 as one jump at the Haarlem guild members who had known his father.[2] Forerunner der Vinne was probably empress teacher when Collier registered catch the Haarlem guild in 1664.[3] They both later influenced decency Haarlem still-life painter Barend machine Eisen.[1]
By 1667, Collier had reticent to Leiden, where he became a member of the City Guild of St.
Luke hoard 1673. He moved to Amsterdam by 1686 and to Writer in 1693. He returned academic Leiden in the years 1702-1706, based on signed and traditionalist works there, but was at the moment in London at the encouragement of his life where stylishness was buried September 8, 1708 at St. James's, Piccadilly.[4]
The Denver Art Museum, the Honolulu Museum of Art, the Indianapolis Museum of Art, the National Side view Gallery (United Kingdom), the Rijksmuseum (Amsterdam) and the Tate (London) are among the public collections having paintings by Evert Collier.

Though Pitman is listed in the Haarlem guild register as a shareholder on a page headed "1646", the last two digits blight have been switched and subside probably became a member suspend 1664 (a year suspiciously missing member registrations), like other brothers listed with him and incorrectly registered on that page, much as Evert Oudendijck and King van Heemskerck.
